Everyday is a new challenge, but that's life!

Wow! Another week gone by and another unit finished. I always see commercials or banners advertising, "get your degree in less than a year". I even have friends ask me why I didn't just go to school for medical assisting at a local community college. All I can say is that I am glad that I chose Kaplan or rather Kaplan chose me! Each unit I learn something else, vital information that I use in my everyday life. I get so excited with each chapter that I read in my nutrition book! I get exhilarated when I complete another unit in my composition class! My school work keeps me focused on my happiness with what I learn! Every day it seems that something occurs that could cause me to lose my focus and possible fall into depression. But thankfully I am blessed to have a loving husband, a great family, a awesome friends to help me see the beauty in each minute that I am here! Going outside and just experiencing the day that God gives me is a treasure to me every day. I don't know, all of a sudden I just feel like I must experience everything, everyday. My husband says it may be my midlife crisis. I just feel that I am being made over, in a great new way! I am so excited about being me! So although I am unemployed and a car I just purchased broke down (I haven't had it 30 days, HA!), I am encouraged in my heart and spirit to be the best I can be! I hope that each of you has a fabulous week!

Almost Spring

I am so loving this term in school! Each week I learn something more in my Nutrition class and each week in Composition brings me closer to my dream of writing and enlightening the world about Nutrition. There have been alot of things happening in my life each week but for each thing that happens to me that seems like a set back, I see another opportunity for good rising to greet me! My husband hurt his foot yesterday so I have been taking care of him all day. Since I have been unemployed he seems to think that I don't do much all day. But today he saw me cleaning, cooking, taking care of the baby, taking care of him, doing schoolwork and keeping up with family and friends on facebook. He actually told me how much he appreciates me! That is the best feeling in the world. Most of us claim to not need validation, but compliments and appreciation for what we do each day is always good for the ego!

I am so glad that Spring has almost sprung! I am in Gulfport, MS and the days are getting warmer! I think as long as the sun is shining I feel better about everything! Except when it is too humid, then I just stay inside and try to stay cool! I hope that each one of you is experiencing good thoughts and great days and if you are not I hope it gets better!

what a ride

These past 6 weeks have been a whirl wind for me. Classes are going well for me and I am very excited about the courses that I am taking. My personal life has been kinda rocky. My daughter was in a really bad accident, but luckily she was wearing her seat belt and she is okay. It totaled the car, but that is a material thing that can be replaced. I hope that each of you wears your seat belt each time you get into a vehicle, it can most definitely safe your life. The SAINTS won the Super Bowl! It has been a great two weeks in our region, first the Saints then a great Mardi Gras! I am so glad that the city of New Orleans is coming back so strong. Although the city can be a little violent, it is a great place to visit. They have such good food and nice entertainment. I love my city too! I am not really into casinos, but I love driving through each town down Highway 90. I also like to take back road trips, just to see new things. Our entire region is developing since Hurricane Katrina and it is very exciting. My best friend will be coming home from Iraq is less than 10 days! I am so happy that she did not have to stay too long and I hope that she does not have to go back. I have 2 other friends that are also over there and I hope and pray that each of them makes it home safely. I hope each of you has a great week and I will blog ya later!

This month is so exciting for me! Both of my girls are getting automobiles! It's scary, but very necessary. The Saints are in the Superbowl! Geaux Saints! Mardi Gras is just around the corner! I have been busy getting things done for all these events, but I couldn't forget my schoolwork. This class is very exciting to me. I am finding out a lot more about my writing expertise. I think I am enjoying this class more because of the Professor and my fellow classmates. We seem to all be finding our way through this class.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys the Superbowl! Hope no one is snowed in and if you are, hope you are prepared!
